What a week 2 for the ESPL, great games, and a wild series of matches that had some surprising outcomes!

The highlight of the week was the two top spending teams meeting in THE match of the week as Emerald United, losers in week 1, and Gothica, winners in week 1, met and fought to a 2-2 draw. The result may have been different if Paco DeJesus had been present but Emerald United managed to keep from losing without him.

Speaking of clubs losing players for games, Shamrock Celtic lose Patrick Barnes for four games for his blatant disregard for the safety of others and Shazam CM loses Tony Johanssen for three games after he acquired two yellows. The Barnes decision surprised and upset the Shamrock Celtic but they hope Barnes will be more calm when he comes back.

We saw our first scoreless match in the ESPL when Real Olympia and Naval Armada failed to put a single goal into the net, though controversy was present as the league’s “best player,” Khan Galaxy, debated that one of his goal chances was actually a goal. The referees, and after looking at the goal after the game the ball clearly did not cross the line.

Allen FC tops the league as the only team with two wins, though Gothica, Naval Armada, and Shazam CM join them as undefeated clubs at the top. If Allen FC can continue with the winning ways, they’ll establish themselves as a powerhouse in the ESPL.

See you next week!
